DO NOT DESPAIR if you fall of the wagon. Just start again NOW - not tomorrow. Or else you have the excuse to pig-out ThumbDown Try to eat 'filling foods' to stop you picking and if you fancy something sweet, have fruit or sugar free jelly and fruit.

Well done, Rheumatoidmummy (sorry we don't know your name) - please share your success tips with us ThumpUp

Commiserations to Lyn W. You have my email address if you want to contact me for support. Don't think you are on your own. Sometimes you don't lose weight, but if you measure yourself regularly, you may find you have lost inches. Then the following week you do lose. So don't give up just 'cos you don't lose one week.

Sophie - if you've got to eat, choose fruit, carrot and celery sticks and cherry tomatoes. Even if you eat piles of them, they won't be as bad for you as sweets, biscuits or cake LOL

Melly - well done for last week - commiserations for this week. Yes, planning, weighing and tracking (writing down everything that goes in your mouth) is the only way I can lose weight. It is very interesting to look back at my records of a week when I had a good weight loss and then look at a week when I either didn't lose or put on.

Keep it up you losers LOL

Hello everyone,

I'm not too sure why I'm doing so well recently - probably the knowledge that I'm going to be lying on a beach in a few weeks time has spurred me into action! Also - with the addition of Sulfasalazine and Hyroxychloroquine to MTX I've managed to reduce my steroids from 15mg to 3mg and I've noticed I'm definately less hungry. Also, I've been doing this a while now - about a year - so I've gradually been adjusting what I eat so I have low point things without really noticing the difference now. I think it's always much easier to lose weight in the summer as you don't mind having salad! I've also got a lot of support in the form of my husband who also wants to eat healthily. I track everything and use a pedometer too....um can't think of anything else right now....!!

Off for my low point breakfast now - crumpets and jam - yummy!

I know I don't belong on this thread eating for two as I am and I never ever diet anyway (sorry- I am way too radical for diets)...but just to say my mark has lost a total of 1 whole stone!!!!!!!!!!

It is not visible but will keep you posted should any more weight drop off! His thyroid is now normal too which is great!

Love,

Amanda

Amanda. Congratulations to Mark on his weight loss - even though YOU can't see it, I bet his clothes feel more comfortable for him. Imagine 1 stone of lard - that's an awful lot BigGrin

By the way - this isn't 'dieting' - it is healthy eating. This is something I am very poor at and Weightwatchers is training me to eat healthily ThumpUp

As soon as you say 'diet', you think you can't have something... and if you can't have something, you immediately want it RollEyes So eating healthily means have a little of what you like occasionally.

I have no willpower where food is concerned and if it is something I like - which is laden with fat and sugar - then it tastes nice and I want to eat it ... lots of it ThumbDown

My taste buds are certainly getting more selective because if I pig out on cake I feel really yucky (serve me right).

Keep on keeping on everyone. We can do it ThumpUp

Ann

Hi Ann and all

Glad to report I am now well and truly back on the healthy eating kick. Hoping I will loose a pound or two this week. You are an inspiration, Ann and I am in awe of you. What a tremendous achievement. Steve says that if I loose 3 stones and am fitter, he'll get me the choc lab or german shepherd I've been wanting for ages. How about that for an incentive?

Lots of love

Well I didn't lose any last week but I've managed to lose a pound this week, so that's 5lbs now and I am quite pleased! Still a fair way to go but heyho ...

Go Jean - wow what a prize! I like the sound of the choc lab, I love them they're so cute Smile

Pleased to say that 1.5 lbs has gone this week. ThumpUp It IS a slog, but everytime my clothes get looser and I take fewer painkillers, I realise what a huge strain on my body all this fat was Sad

Our theme at Weightwatchers this week was Negative Nellies and Positive Pollys Smile We talked about how different people's attitudes are to a 1 lb weight loss. A negative Nellie wanted more weight lost, a Positive Polly was glad she had lost a pound as she thought she wouldn't have lost any !!

Anyone got any favourite foods to help.

I just LOVE baked potatoes - without the butter of course!

Keep it up, you losers BigGrin

yes agree as losing weight find less need so many painkillers also more energy, well when not battling infections.
that aside oh yes postive vibes to goals of 1 size smaller clothes then to another size smaller etc.

so far my undies needs smaller size.
